Luke Bryan’s poignant, emotional and timely new song, “Build Me A Daddy” was released last week. But last night the country superstar dad performed it live for the first time.
Ahead of Father’s Day, this Sunday, the song takes on even more meaning.
Take a look at Luke’s performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
The song tells the story of a boy who approaches a toy shop owner in his store, and shares a photo of a soldier (assumingly his father), and asks the man to “Build Me A Daddy.”
It’s bound to trigger emotions, even for big tough guys. In fact, Luke said, “I’ve played this song for a lot of my hardcore buddies and it chokes them up.”
You’ll find the song on Bryan’s soon to be released album, Born Here, Live Here, Die Here, set for release on August 7.
