Any fan of Jimmie Allen knows he is a HUGE Disney fan. He got engaged to his now wife, Alexis, at Disney World, surrounded by family and friends, in front of Magic Kingdom’s iconic castle. The “Best Shot” singer admits to being “obsessed” with all things Disney. He’s been to Disney World more than 70 times, and says he visits the theme park not just to have fun, but to find inspiration in founder Walt Disney.
Imagine Jimmie’s excitement when he found out that he would be dancing to Disney songs on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars last night (and tonight). It was Disney Heroes Night, and Allen and his partner, Emma Slater, danced a wicked Paso Doble to the Mulan song, “I’ll Make a Man Out of You.” Of course he knew every word, so felt compelled to sing as he danced. Jimmie and Emma went on to score 2 extra bonus points from the challenge and raised their score to 32 out of 40.
To find inspiration, the contestants were asked to honor their heroes. Jimmie said, “When I think of heroes, I think of my Father.” He got very emotional during rehearsals, sharing, “He’s the one that raised me on ‘never make an excuse’ and that’s helped me so much with my career.”
