Kelsea Ballerini dedicated her performance at the ACM Honors in Nashville last night to her musical hero Shania Twain. She wore the dress Shania wore at the 1999 Grammy Awards and walked the red carpet with Twain heading into the ceremony. Shania was honored with the Poet's Award.
Kelsea posted several images and videos to her Insta stories. She wrote over a photo of Shaina wearing the white dress at the Grammy Awards in 1999, "Sisterhood of the traveling dress... Guess where @shaniatwain's Grammy dress is off to next." She shared an image of her and Twain last night together on the red carpet in the next photo. Ballerini then posted a photo of herself in a similar outfit Shania wore in the video to sing "Man, I Feel Like A Woman," from Kelsea's performance of the song at last night's show.
A rep for Ballerini told People on the red carpet, "Kelsea reached out, and Shania was more than happy to lend her the dress and thought it [was] really fun."
The 2022 ACM Honors will air on Fox on September 13, 2022.
The 57th Academy of Country Music Awards streams live tonight (March 7) at 8pm ET From Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Prime Video. Hosted by Dolly Parton with co-hosts Jimmie Allen and Gabby Barrett, both of whom won best new artists of the year in their respective categories. The two-hour concert dedicated to honoring and showcasing the biggest names in country music means the stars have come dressed to impress.
