Massachusetts has a large percentage of people who share their Netflix password with other people. Channel 7 states that "Massachusetts is home to a very large number of Netflix viewers– and swindlers." This opinion was based off a new study

The name of the company who conducted the study is called Techelate. The company used Google Trends, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration survey and a study from Time2Play. The study uncovered that people who live in Massachusetts are prone to share passwords compared to other states. Massachusetts had the third-highest rate in the country of admitting to sharing their Netflix login credentials with others. According to the study, "Mass. residents had the  About 57% of Netflix subscribers admitted to sharing login information." The study showed how our lovely state beat out Ohio and Illinois for password sharing. Who were the most honest states that do not share passwords? Kansas, Tennessee and Utah residents had the lowest percentage of password sharers.

According to the study, "Bay Staters watched approximately 772 hours of Netflix annually, the study found, ranking seventh-highest of all 50 states. Oregonians watched the most Netflix, at 798 hours, while North Dakotans watched the least, at 662 hours." If you want to see the list in its entirety click here.

Netflix is trying to stop Massachusetts residents from sharing their passwords. According to Nerdist.com, "Netflix will reportedly offer a way to “easily and securely” continue to share the account… for a small price. Account holders can select from an “add an extra member” feature and add up to two friends they don’t live with. And it’ll cost an extra $2.99 per month. That’s certainly less than making someone create a whole new account." Netflix is an expense platform. People are trying to save money by sharing passwords. The price was increased recently and people are trying to save money. I can't be mad at anyone who want to share a password.
