Ashley McBryde has released a new song from her upcoming album, which is still to be announced. The new song is called "The Devil I Know."
Ashley said in a statement about the new tune, "We're always hearing something from somebody who thinks they know what's best for us. Lose weight; your hair's too curly, change this, change that. Things just seem to go better when you trust your own lens to see what's good for you."
Written by McBryde with Jeremy Stover and Bobby Pinson, "The Devil I Know" includes the lyrics, "Momma says get my ass my to church / Daddy says get my ass to work / Doctor says I gotta give up on these smokes / Everybody's got something to say / About how I gotta change my ways / Well, I got something to say of my own / Hell, there's hell everywhere I go / So I'm sticking with the devil I know."
Earlier this week, the CMT Music Awards saw her join Wynonna for a performance of Foreigner's 1984 hit "I Want to Know What Love Is."
Next week, McBryde will return to the Grand Ole Opry before heading back out on the road throughout the spring and summer for a slew of headlining shows and tour dates with Eric Church and Jelly Roll.

In January, Ashley released the video for her fun song "Brenda Put Your Bra On," which features collaborators Pillbox Patti and Caylee Hammack.
McBryde told us of the new video, "As soon as we recorded this song, we knew we wanted to make a video for it. It's the start of the action in Lindeville. There were a lot of ways we could have shot the video, yet Reid (the director Reid Long) had the idea to capture all the insanity and drama in one continuous take, which feels very in tune with the spirit of this entire project… how Lindeville of us!"
This could be a big week for Ashley McBryde as she attends the 65th Annual GRAMMY Awards as a double nominee on Sunday (2/5). Her fifth and sixth GRAMMY nominations are for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for her chart-topping duet "Never Wanted To Be That Girl" with Carly Pearce and for Best Country Album for her project Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville.
When she got the news a few weeks ago, she said in a statement, "I'm so proud to be able to share these nominations with so many friends and collaborators – for a duet we wrote and took to No. 1 with Carly and the entire cast of Lindeville, where we gave ourselves the opportunity to change the approach and make decisions based solely on serving the songs." She added, "I've always said that recognition from the Recording Academy and joining the Grand Ole Opry are the two best things that could ever happen to you as an artist, so here I stand just in awe of this moment. It's such an honor to be right here right now. And especially in such good company."
Ashley has had a few significant years in country music. She will perform "Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville Live," featuring the cast of collaborators and special guests performing songs at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium on February 15 and 16.
Here, we take a look at her last few years in country music. Will she become one of country's newest Grammy darlings this week?
