Wegmans Recalls Chicken Nuggets in Nine States Due to Bone Fragment Risk
Food safety officials sent out an alert about Wegmans frozen chicken breast nuggets after customers discovered small bone pieces in their bags.
The items being recalled are 46-ounce plastic bags marked “Wegmans Family Pack Fully Cooked Breaded Chicken Breast with Rib Meat” that expire August 26, 2025. People should look for establishment number “P-33944” within the USDA mark of inspection.
Produced on August 26, 2024, these nuggets were shipped to stores across Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.
Though no one has been hurt yet, Wegmans is asking customers to toss out affected products or bring them back for a refund. The store is moving quickly to keep customers safe.
Officials say many bags might still be sitting untouched in people’s freezers. They’re urging customers to act right away.
The recalled nuggets were only sold at Wegmans stores. This recall comes after other recent food safety issues, including Walmart pulling some broccoli products because of Listeria concerns.
