During NBC's The Voice blind auditions, 19-year-old Hailey Wright amazed judges with her rendition of "Before the Next Teardrop Falls." Her performance immediately got two chairs to turn around.

The young singer's unique yodeling caught Michael Bublé by surprise, while Kelsea Ballerini quickly turned her chair first. Both coaches competed hard to get Wright on their team.

Unlike other singing competitions, The Voice puts teens up against experienced singers. Before appearing on TV, contestants must send in short video auditions lasting just 90 seconds.

Show producers watch thousands of submissions from across the country. Chosen singers then go through intense training, learning everything from how to work the stage to managing social media.

This season lets each coach pick twelve singers. Backstage, contestants practice with pro musicians and work out their performance details well ahead of time.

The tough audition process has coaches listening to about twenty-four singers each day. Those who make it through get complete makeovers.

Song choices change big time after the first round. While singers get to pick their audition song, coaches take over the song choices from there on.

Behind the scenes, singers put in long hours with full band practices and staging work. Producers look for dedicated performers who eat, sleep, and breathe music.

After thinking it over, Wright chose Ballerini to coach her. The up-and-coming coach has done really well with country singers, giving veteran Adam Levine some competition.

NBC fans can watch Wright's journey each week as the show goes on. This season's star-studded panel includes Adam Levine, John Legend, Ballerini, and Bublé.
