The World’s Oldest Competitive Power Lifter Is A 100 Year Old Woman!
This should lift up your Monday.
The Guinness World Records recently certified Edith Murway-Traina for a truly outstanding achievement. Edith is the oldest competitive power lifter in the World!
The great-grandmother, and former dance teacher celebrated her 100th birthday yesterday. According to a Guinness release, “Lifting weights upwards of 40-150 pounds, Edith is smashing the competitive powerlifting circuit, dazzling viewers and judges alike with her graceful lifts.”
The Tampa area lifter joined a gym just 9 years ago, and was hesitant to do so.(There’s something we can all relate to!) But, as we all know, you just have to keep at it.
Edith said, “Going on a regular basis, I found that I was enjoying it, and I was challenging myself to get a little bit better and a little bit better. Before long, I was part of the team.”
