The 127th Boston Marathon is on Monday, April 17th. This year, the legendary event marks the 10th anniversary of the marathon bombing that killed three people and injured hundreds more.
Remembrance
There will be two special events taking place.
- At the Boston Marathon finish line at 2:30pm, there will be a dedication of a new commemorative finish line. It will include the ringing of bells and unveiling of a One Boston Day marker on Boylston Street. The bells will ring at the Old South Church at 2:49pm, the time the first bomb went off in 2013.
- There will also be a private gathering of the victims’ families at the Boston Marathon Survivor Memorial. The memorial is located on Boylston Street between Dartmouth and Fairfield Streets. It will be closed for most of the morning, but will reopen to all visitors once the 5K run ends.
