Meet Catherine Roche

There’s a natural aching in Catherine Roche’s voice. But it isn’t a forced vocal inflection. It’s comes completely naturally, as if this New Englander was born to sing country music. She tells a story through song with such emotion, such grace. You just have to hang on to find out where her voice will take you. Honestly, the more I hear from this talented singer/songwriter, the more I need to hear. With each song there is growth, diversity, and a very apparent drive to be better.

Catherine will soon be releasing an original called “Behind These Closed Doors.” With this piece of work, she has stepped outside her comfort zone. This time, the artist reaches into a darker place, but manages to find some light. It has almost an ethereal feel to it. There’s a Joan Baez earthiness to Roche’s vocal approach that keeps you believing in whatever she is telling you.

Songwriting and singing are not Catherine Roche’s only talents, she is also a captivating, energetic live performer. It’s clear when she is on stage, that she has found her place, her calling, her happiness. This creator of art aims to please, and in doing so has achieved the trifecta of being a music artist; a talented singer, songwriter and performer.

Of her new single, “Behind These Closed Doors,” Catherine said,  the song came about “after a year filled with so many sad stories of friends dealing with difficult situations. I remember thinking, wow you never know what goes on behind closed doors. And then thinking, but even though there’s sadness, I still see beauty in this world and others. So I brought this idea to my friend Wesley Steed and we wrote this in Nashville.”
