Meet Corey Hales

Raised in Milton, polished at Berklee College of Music, and road-tested, this exceptionally talented singer/songwriter has now put his guitar down in the sunnier pastures of California. Corey Hales is an artist who cannot be boxed into a genre. He has performed at clubs in Harlem, the famed Blue Bird Cafe in Nashville, the gothic church of Kylemore Abbey of Ireland.

Steeped in soul, sweetened in pop, and served hot or cool, Corey, at the core, is singer/songwriter. That is strikingly obvious in his song, “Cherry Tree.” The depth, the delivery, the tones are calming, beautiful, thoughtful and wise. Hales started writing early in his high school years at Milton. He was coached by locally by Mark Baxter, reknowned vocal coach to Steven Tyler, among many others.

If comparisons are drawn, let them paint subtle hints of Ed Sheeran, Chris Stapleton, James Taylor. And then forget them all, and listen to this truly unique artist. Corey Hales make look tough on the exterior, but in his creative heart he is gently soulful, and firmly artistic.
