“Divorce.” It’s a tough word to hear, but country stars are just like us. Even our favorite artists have been married, and divorced once, twice and sometimes three times. And we still love them!
It’s true what they say, that the best music comes from a heart break. Let’s take a look at some of country music’s favorite breakup songs. Zac Brown Band’s “Highway 20 Ride.” And then there’s Tammy Wynette’s “D-I-V-O-R-C-E.” And who can look past Carly Pearce’s entire 29 album, and Kelsea Ballerini’s Rolling Up The Welcome Mat EP. Both of these records are written with one feeling in mind: heartbreak.
Here’s a look at all of the country stars who have been divorced. Some of them might be surprising. Some of them you might scratch your head and think, “They were married before?” But thankfully, many of our favorite artists have found happiness with other people!

Shania Twain was married to her music producer and co-writer, Robert “Mutt” Lange. They Divorced after 14 years when Shania learned that Mutt was cheating on her with her best friend.Kelsea Ballerini

Kelsea Ballerini and Morgan Evans were together for 5 years before calling it quits. She alleges in song and interview that she was the one who put all of the effort into the marriage. She filed for divorce in 2021.

These two lovebirds seemed so happy together and so loving when they posed on red carpets. But you never really know what’s going on in people’s lives.
Morgan Evans was married to Kelsea Ballerini for 5 years. He claims that he was blindsided by the divorce.
Carly Pearce
Carly Pearce was married to Michael Ray for only 8 months. She is now dating Riley King.
Kenny Chesney
These two stars were married just for a few months before they called it quits. No one really knows why.
Kenny Chesney was married to actress Renee Zellweger. They met at a music concert and by September, they were in January of 2005. They got married that May, and by September, they were already heading to divorce court.
Sara Evans

Sara Evans was married to Craig Schelske from 1993-2007. In 2008 she married Harry “Jay” Barker and got divorced from him in 2021.
Miranda Lambert
This one hit fans hard and was quite the shock when it was announced. It seemed both superstars were doing so well in their lives as their careers skyrocketed. Today both superstars seem very happily married to others.
Miranda Lambert was married to Blake Shelton from 2011-2015. She is now married to Brendan McLoughlin.
Reba
Reba McEntire and Narvel Blackstock were married for 26 years. He filed for divorce in 2015.
Kacey Musgraves
The couple announced their split in July of 2020, just after three and a half years of marriage.
Blake Shelton
Blake Shelton married Kaynette Gern in 2003 and divorced three years later in 2006. He married Miranda Lambert in 2011 and they got divorced in 2015. Blake is now married to Gwen Stefani. They married each other in 2021.
LeAnn Rimes

Garth Brooks married Sandy Mahl in 1986 and got divorced in 2001. He then married fellow country singer, Trisha Yearwood in 2005 and has been married to her ever since then.
Trisha Yearwood
Yearwood was married to Christopher Latham from 1987 to 1991. She then married Robert Reynolds in 1994 and got divorced in 1999. And finally she met Garth Brooks and married him in 2005.
Zac Brown
Zac Brown married Shelly. They were married for 12 years. They got married in 2006 and announced their divorce in 2018.
Randy Houser
Randy Houser and his ex-wife, Jessa Lee Yantz, split after just 3 years of being married. He even filed a restraining order against her. They got married in 2011 and divorced in 2014.
Trace Adkins
Trace Adkins was accused of cheating on his ex-wife, Rhonda. They were married for 17 years and divorced in 2015.
Jason Aldean
