During a press conference, football legend and coach Deion Sanders said that he ranks his children and their rankings go up and down based on what they do. He also said all parents have a favorite child and anyone who says they love all their kids equally is lying. Do you love all of your children equally? Or do you secretly have a favorite child?
Deion Sanders Was “Primetime”
Ayla Brown: Deion Sanders. We’ve got to talk about him. What a legend. This man not only played 14 years in the NFL, but he also, if you forgot, played nine years in the MLB. He won two Super Bowl titles, made a World Series appearance in 1992, making him the only athlete to play in both a Super Bowl and a World Series. He’s considered one of the greatest cornerbacks of all time, and they nicknamed him Primetime. But now his nickname is Coach Prime because of how incredible a football coach he’s been for two years.
He’s “Coach Prime” Now
If you remember, he coached Jackson State University to an undefeated season and bowl appearances. And he’s now the new coach for the Colorado Buffaloes football team. Honestly, if you ask my husband, he’s the most exciting thing to happen to college football in a long time. And two of his sons actually play on the team that he coaches.
But Deion Sanders might be the only parent on the planet who openly admits that he ranks his five children based on their performance. He has five kids and he’s open about it to just about anyone. First, on his son Deion Sanders Jr’s birthday, he shared a tweet. It was a photo of them. It was so cute.
And he said this: “Happy birthday to my favorite son, Deion Sanders, Jr. I’m so proud of you. Although you’re in my pockets from time to time. Your time, your productivity is well above reproach. You’ve blown up my socials, your siblings socials, and you and you’re excellent at what you do. Keep on striving for your dreams and to understand your purpose in life. You’re the number one son and the number one on the kids rankings currently.”
And then he actually went number one through five at that moment and ranked his children. This is something he has been open about. And then in a post-game press conference, a reporter asked about his current ranking for his kids, and this is what he said.
Do ALL Parents Rank Their Kids Like Deion Says?
So it’s a legitimate question. Is it okay? Is it real? Is it actually possible to rank your children? Is he correct or is he the biggest jerk in the world for even implying that parents have a favorite? Maybe he’s just the most honest person that we’ve come across in America these days? I don’t know. Do you actually rank your kids if you have more than one kid? If you have one like me, you cannot call in. But if you have more than one kid, do you rank them? And does he have a point?
