Dolly Parton Wears Gloves To Hide Her Hands and Arms

TikTok's newest conspiracy theory is that Dolly Parton wears nude gloves. Basically, if you thought you were seeing her real hands in the nude, turns out, they were just gloves with her fingers exposed. While we are no strangers to conspiracy theories about Dolly Parton, including one that Dolly Parton lost a look-alike contest to a drag queen, this one has reached new heights.

The Dolly Parton Nude Glove Conspiracy isn't even new. It is only popular again because of a TikTok video that has gone viral! Take a look at the evidence that I've collected. I have found videos of her performing and being interviewed on talk shows. I have scoured the internet to find close-up photos of her hands. Are they really gloves on there, because the hands look so real!

For those who are new to this conspiracy theory, it's pretty straight forward. #dollypartsonshands is the belief that Dolly Parton wears nude gloves with pressed on nails on the outside of the gloves.

This video has been viewed nearly 10 million times!! As  @hannahbearbraun put it "“We as a society can't deny it anymore. This woman is an enigma and I love her.”

Dolly's creative director Steve Summers has gone on the record in an interview with InStyle to say that she wears long sleeves and gloves to to hide her arms and hands.

"People always ask why she always wears sleeves—well, she's 73 years old, and she doesn't like her elbows," he shared at the time. "[They ask] 'What's wrong with her hands?' She's 73, and she doesn't like them! It's a normal woman thing."

In 2017, Dolly revealed to Vanity Fair that she uses tattoos to cover up scar tissue.

“I don’t really like to make a big to-do of [the tattoos] because people make such a big damn deal over every little thing, but most of the tattoos, when I first started, I was covering up some scars that I had, ‘cause I have a tendency to have keloid scar tissue, and I have a tendency where if I have any kind of scars anywhere, then they kind of have a purple tinge that I can never get rid of. So mine are all pastels, what few that I have, and they’re meant to cover some scars. I’m not trying to make some big, bold statement.”

Dolly's team has already confirmed that she wears gloves! This case was shut and finished well before it ever became a TikTok conspiracy. So rest assured fans of the Queen, we can now go back to wondering if Dolly's husband of 50 years is a myth!
