Julia has been looking for a house she can afford for awhile, and she finally found a great place she can afford. They only problem is that someone was recently murdered there. Would you buy a house where someone was killed?

Jonathan: Today for panic button we have Julia. Hey, Julia.

Julia: Hey, guys.

Jonathan: How are you doing? So you are a young homebuyer who’s looking to find a place, a forever home. Sorry, I shouldn’t laugh like that. But you’re looking to find a place that you can move into. You have the American dream of home ownership, which is quickly dying before our eyes. Well, what’s going on there, Julia?

Julia: Yeah. So basically, I’m looking to buy a home. It’s been really, really difficult. Obviously with the housing crisis and everything, it’s just been really hard to find.

Jonathan: Yeah.

Julia: But I did come across this place through a mutual friend. I found out about it, and it’s a really cute little house. It’s up for grabs. There’s just one catch. Okay. Which is. Which is that, a woman was actually murdered in the house. Someone was killed there.

Jonathan: Wow. What?

Ayla: Well, how do you know that? Aren’t they supposed to disclose.

Jonathan: They actually don’t have to disclose if someone was killed there? Not in Massachusetts.

Ayla: Oh that’s freaky.

Julia: Yeah, they didn’t actually say anything about it at the open house, which, by the way, was quite empty.

Ayla: Only the ghost showed up. That’s so sad.

Jonathan: Yeah. Only creep shows.

Ayla: Yeah. Right.

Jonathan: ID channel was there, but not everyone else.

Ayla: Is this in your hometown?

Julia: It is. Yeah..

Ayla: You don’t need to say the town. I don’t want to know.

Jonathan: Yeah.

Julia: I won’t say, but basically. Yeah, it’s an open secret here. Everybody knows that this happened in this house, very common knowledge.

Jonathan: Okay. Well, I guess my first question is, without going into details about the murder, did they catch the person who did it?

Ayla: It doesn’t matter.

Jonathan: I think it does. What if they come back?

Ayla: Oh, true. Yeah. Did they catch them.

Julia: Yeah. It was sort of open and shut kind of thing.

Ayla: All right. So he’s not going to come back to kill whoever the new owner is. So that’s a great question. So I guess the next one is what’s the hold up. Put a down payment.

Jonathan: I don’t think I could live in it.

Ayla: Yeah right. I was just going to ask you. Do you think you could live in a house where you know someone was killed?

Jonathan: If I knew, I don’t think I could. Because I live in a house that’s 100 years old.

Ayla: So you never know.

Jonathan: Bad stuff has happened in there for sure. I don’t know about murdered, but, I’m sure people have died.

Ayla: Would you be able to live in a funeral home? Because my friend and her family, they own a funeral home and rent them, and they lived up on the top level, but they would always have dead people at the bottom. Is that the same or different than someone actively being murdered in the same home?

Jonathan: I had a friend who, his family ran a funeral home in Wrentham. And let me just put it this way. He looked like his family ran a funeral home.

Ayla: Oh, my God.

Jonathan: He looked like a member of the Addams Family. So I think it affects you. I think it does kind of a great deal.

Ayla: Maybe she could cute it up and then resell it in a couple of years. Maybe she won’t be haunted by ghosts.

Jonathan: Do you think you’d be disturbed by it at all?

Julia: I sort of am like it is.

Ayla: If it’s bothering you, I don’t think you should do it.

Jonathan: That’s what I’m saying. I just don’t think I could do it.
