What Annie Brobst brings to the table is a delicious contemporary take on country music. But, you have to know, she doesn’t sacrifice the original recipe. It’s obvious Annie respects and admires those who led the way and set the table for her. But make no mistake, Brobst is an original. She’s the executive chef in charge at her kitchen creating unique dishes.

One listen to Annie’s popular single, “Red Wine on My Mind,” and you’ll know where she’s come from and where she’s going. According to Annie; “This is our little Red Wine drinking anthem, inspired by Tennessee Whiskey with a Miranda Lambert sass. At the time we wrote this song, red wine was pretty underrepresented in the genre. There were songs about whiskey, beer, tequila, and everything else…but at the end of a long week, I prefer to put my feet up and sip on a glass of red wine – this is the song I imagine playing in the background.”

What lead you to music: I always loved singing, from a very young age. I vividly remember sitting in front of my stereo with a microphone, singing as loudly and as best as I could with the CD lyric jackets open to artists like Martina, Faith, Whitney, Christina, Mariah…all the female divas of the 90s and 2000s.

How old when you started: I sang ever since I was able to, but I didn’t started songwriting and performing more seriously until I moved out to New England roughly 15 years ago.

First country song you learned: I fell in love with Rascal Flatts first, and the flood gates opened. So it was probably “I’m Movin’ On” or something along those same lines.

Instruments played: Just my voice! But I promise you I have to tune that up and practice just like any other instrument. Just no gear to lug 🙂

How would you describe your sound: I’ve heard that my voice is a mix between Miranda Lambert and Jennifer Nettles, but I’d say our songwriting gives a feminine touch to a bro-country sound. We do also love to give nods to both traditional and pop country.

If you are a band, how did you get your name: Since releasing our own music 8 years ago, we’ve just gone under my name.

Awards/accolades: Most recently I was named Female Performer of the Year across all genres by the New England Music Awards and nominated for Boston Music Awards Country Artist of the Year. In the past we’ve won Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Live Act of the Year, and New England Country Music’s Female Artist of the Year.

Dream duet partner: Most definitely Miranda Lambert.

All- time favorite country song: This is always such a tough question, so instead I like to go with what I’m playlisting right now… Wait in the Truck, Bible and a .44, and ABBY.

First country concert: Tim McGraw!

What songs do you like now on Country 1025: I love that Country 1025 always gives us the current hits but also sprinkles in other decades. I love hearing that whole mix of Shania, Hardy, Sam Hunt, Kenny, and more!

If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing: Well I was a full time teacher for 8 years, so I feel very lucky to have lived that other life already. But if I had to choose another (technically a 3rd), I’d love to be a detective or something like that.

Day Job: Full time musician here – and at this level, that requires many hats for sure.

Most proud moment: In the past it’s been some cool show we were part of or meeting my country heroes, but I can honestly say at this moment in time it is that we recently landed our very first manager. This is something I’ve been hoping for and dreaming of for a very long time. We’ve been picky and patient, as anyone should be when jumping into a new partnership with someone who is really going to represent you and your career moving forward, and we couldn’t be more excited to have finally taken this step with Dustin Labbe!

Crazy thing that happened in your music career: It was pretty surreal to be out in Colorado playing a big festival, just after our set we sat side stage to watch the headliner (Sam Hunt) do his thing and I was sitting right next to Walker Hayes and Kelsea Ballerini, literally bumping elbows. I’ll never forget how crazy that felt, no matter where this goes, those chills are priceless. Those are some of our favorites in the business paving the way for people like me.

Other things you like to do: I LOVE to cook, I lOVE snuggling my dogs, and I LOVE to nerd out with my favorite video game (currently hooked on PS5’s Horizon Forbidden West.

Fun facts: Ha, I think the answer above hit this pretty spot on, but I’ll also throw in that I’m fluent in Spanish!
