Kruser’s Local Catch

If Avril Lavigne and Taylor Swift collaborated it may sound a little something like the music of Brooke Hindle. There’s definitely a rock girl edge to this newer country artist. Her soon to be released single “Goodbye” takes hints of each in songwriting and vocals. Here, you will get to know this talented New England singer/songwriter, find out where to see her live and listen to her music. Meet my Local Catch of the Week, Brooke Hindle from Burlington.

Brooke’s mother may have been manifesting her future when she chose her name. Hindle shared that she was named after Garth Brooks. Her mom was obviously a huge fan. Brooke started singing at a young age and embraced the spotlight. Her first performances were in a rather unusual place, as you will find out, below.

Taking inspiration from a bad relationship, Brooke’s brand new original song tries to bring humor to heartbreak. She’s a fan of sassy songwriting and brings plenty of it to the table. With hooky phrasing and creative verses, the infectious “Goodbye” is a good buy. And it’s a great start for a new artist on her musical journey of discovery. There’s so much more ahead for this Massachusetts girl. My Local Catch of the Week, Brooke Hindle from Burlington shares her music and her story.

Find out much more about this artist, here. It’s a great way to support our New England singer/songwriters. Listen, learn and share!

  • The Music

    • “Goodbye” is my latest country rock single releasing September 29th!!! I would’ve had this super romantic love song for you, but then I got ghosted. I was cracking a joke with my mom saying that this particular boy, whom I really liked, could speak 5 different languages, but couldn’t say goodbye in one of them… so I did it for him. I had a lot of fun writing
this song, making light of my heartbreak. I hope everyone has as much fun listening as I did writing.
  • The Story

    • From: Stoneham, MA & Burlington, MA -I moved towns in 8th grade, halfway through my childhood, so I feel like I’m from both!
    • Current single: “Goodbye.” Releasing September 29th!
    • What lead you to music: When I was in elementary school, I would sing for the employees at “Hairmates Salon” while I was waiting for my mom’s hair to be done. I was writing songs with my next-door neighbor Livy before we could even spell most words correctly. As far back as I can remember, music has been a natural part of my life and has always been at the core of my heart. My Aunty Sharon used to sing to me when I was in my mom’s tummy, so we like to say I was born this way.
    • How long have you been performing: I really do think my first ever vocal performance(s) were at Hairmates Salon as a child. I did musical theatre playing my dream role as Sandy in Grease at Burlington High School. But, my first actual paid gig as an artist was at a Brockton Arts Music Festival in 2019. I also used to dance for the Boston Celtics on the Lil’ Phunk dance team, so being in front of large audiences was always a part of my childhood.
    • First country song you learned: “The Thunder Rolls” by Garth Brooks – I was named after Garth so we played him a lot in my house! Born & raised on country music, that’s for sure!
    • How would you describe your sound: Country Rock! Sassy & Fierce! I like to say that mixing a Boston Girl with Country Music is like mixing vodka in your coffee…
      1. Don’t knock it ‘til you try it
      2. Everything comes out a bit sassier
    • Who inspires you: In life, my parents. In music, Taylor Swift. Yes, I’m a Swiftie! She really is an amazing business woman; so intelligent & methodical with every move she makes. And not that I’ve ever met her, but I hear she’s so kind to everyone she meets and works with. I value that a lot!
    • Awards/accolades : I haven’t won any awards… yet! I’m also just getting started. This gives me a lot to work towards and stay motivated with my craft. Hopefully one day!
    • Dream duet partner: Jo Dee Messina!!! Her sound is sassy & humorous just like mine and I absolutely admire her work. I grew up listening to her music every morning before school and have always dreamed of working with her (or even just getting advice from her). Fun fact: She’s actually from Boston too!
    • All-time favorite country song:   Oh my this is a difficult question! Right now, I’m jamming to a lot of Jelly Roll & Lainey Wilson.
    • First country concert: I think it was probably the Martina McBride Holiday Tour. I was really young, but I remember her being so angelic and princess-like in this big deep red dress with white fluffy rims on her sleeves. It was awesome.
    • If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing: If I wasn’t a musician, I would be learning how to be a musician. I just can’t picture it any other way.
    • Day Job: I’m a Project Manager during the day – Gotta make ends meet. I’m lucky to have found a company that allows me to be flexible with my schedule when daytime gigs or weekday opportunities arise. I’ve been taking time off throughout the year to fly back and forth between Boston & Nashville as well. Work hard, Work harder!
    • Most proud moment: For me, it’s the little things like when someone will add my song to their playlist, make a nod to a lyric of mine, share one of my social posts, play my song(s) at a party, etc. Knowing people are enjoying my music means the world to me!
    • Crazy thing that happened in your music career: Having my music hit the radio this year has been so incredible! What a bucket list item for any independent artist. I’m just getting back from a mini tour in Nashville where I promoted my latest single, “Goodbye.” That was the coolest week of my life! My more long term goal is to play at the Grand Ole Opry one day.
    • Other things you like to do: I LOVE Pickleball! It’s a great workout and super competitive. Our family does an annual Pickleball tournament and you’re speaking to the reigning champ!
    • Fun fact:  I don’t know if this is a fun fact or a weird fact, but I don’t like the taste of Chocolate. Let’s just say my brother had a very happy Halloween every year when I gave him ALL of the Chocolate candy I collected.
    • Mantra: “Do everything with so much passion and love that you would never do it any other way.”
