Kruser’s Local Catch

The first time I met Lauren Weintraub she was still in high school, living in Sudbury. She was all of 18 years old, and yet far older than that, musically. She came into our studios already a seasoned performer. Lauren started singing when she was only about 7 years old, then on to musical theater (she played Annie  90 times). At age fifteen,  Weintraub wrote her first song, and never turned back. She had been searching for her lane and found it in her own music.

Fast forward: Today, Lauren is considered to be one of the hot new storytellers in Nashville. She officially kicked off her songwriting career in the summer of 2019, when she was signed to a publishing deal. It was a joint venture with Brandy Clark, a hit songwriter and Warner Brothers Recording artist, and Big Machine Music. In fact, Lauren was their very first signee. Just recently our Boston girl was signed Virgin Records, and will be releasing her debut EP, “This Is Your Brain On Love” on November 4th! Big stuff happening for Ms. Weintraub.

Lauren shared a really special song with me a couple of years ago, before it was mastered. It was raw and beautiful, and named, “Boston.” I’m happy to say this gem is complete, available, and now on video. Yes, there are plenty of Boston references to fill our souls. But, there is also a real and exquistely written story behind the title, in true Weintraub fashion. She just has a way of evoking our emotions with her lyrics, and pysically moving us with her music.

It’s all finally happening for the Sudbury singer/songwriter. She is officially a TikTok sensation. Lauren is signed, sealed and continuing to deliver. Be sure and catch her this Friday in a rare Boston appearance. (See where below).

This is “Boston.” Lauren wrote it after a devastating heartbreak. He never got to see Boston with her. Her Boston.
