Massachusetts Named One of the Most Expensive States To Live In For 2023

Well this news hits like a handful of pocket change to the face: Massachusetts was just named one of the most expensive states to live in in 2023. Make that 2 pocketfuls of change. Ouch.

Scholaroo (fun name) is behind a yearly study that gauges all 50 states on costs of pretty much everything from education, health care, and taxes to haircuts, groceries, and rent. There are a LOT of metrics factored in to determine the yearly ranking of Most Expensive States to Live In, and 2023 doesn’t bring happy news for the Bay State. The biggest bargain? South Dakota. They are the LEAST expensive state to live in.
