This is step one of delivering a perfect eulogy. Tell the attendees who you are. Thank them for coming.

Laura’s husband keeps accidentally calling her the wrong name, Laurie, which is his ex-girlfriend’s name and she thinks it’s a red flag, but he keeps saying its not a big deal. Would you be upset if your husband called you the wrong name?

Ayla Brown: And good morning, Laura. Now, I know that is your name and we’re talking about names today. And you have someone who has a problem calling you by your real name. What is going on?

Laura: So my husband, we have our wedding anniversary on July 9th, and he mistakenly calls me Lorrie, and I just don’t find it appropriate because ex’s name is Laurie and I am his wife. And clearly my name is Laura.

Ayla Brown: Okay, So let’s backtrack. You just had your first wedding anniversary, but how many years have you been together?

Laura: Three total.

Ayla Brown: Okay. So three years. He obviously knows your name is Laura, but he calls you Lauren or Laurie because he has ex-girlfriends that have had those names.

Laura: Yes.

Ayla Brown: When does he do it? Please don’t tell me. It’s like while you guys are being intimate.

Laura: When we were at a big family event in front of a bunch of people. And when we went camping and he was like, Laurie, come in. I said, You call me Laurie one more time and I’m divorcing you.

Ayla Brown:
Okay. And then he’d say, Oh, I’m sorry, Laura. I know you’re my wife. My bad.

Laura: Nope. He’s like, Oh, it was an accident. Get over it.

Ayla Brown: Okay, Get over it. Laura So what does it make you think when he mistakenly calls you his ex-girlfriend’s names, that he’s still thinking about them?

Laura: Yeah, Honestly? He has some unfinished feelings or something. I don’t know.

Ayla Brown: Okay. And then when he calls you by the bad name, he doesn’t really own up. He doesn’t apologize. He just says No, get over it. This is your fault. So is that a slip? Did he accidentally say it or is he thinking about his ex-girlfriends?
