Ayla Brown: And good morning to Alex. Alex, you have a hotel situation and I’m really intrigued by this because I myself have booked some really crappy places in my life, but I don’t know if it beats what happened with you and your wife’s booking. What happened?
Alex: Hey. Yes. My wife and I had been planning this trip to Key West, and she booked this hotel, and we later found out that it’s a nude hotel.
Ayla Brown: Whoa. Okay. I didn’t know that they existed. Tell us. Clothing optional Hotel Key West. I went to Key West when I was 12 years old and thank goodness I was not aware of that. Okay, so clothing optional. Key West. Everyone is booking their flights to Key West now, except you, Alex, right?
Alex: Yeah. I mean, to be honest, I’m really uncomfortable with it. I’m sort of angry that that slipped through the cracks until it was done. It’s a tricky situation because it’s nonrefundable. And honestly, I don’t want to go , I don’t feel comfortable being with my wife, trying to have a peaceful sort of vacation around a bunch of nude people walking around.
Ayla Brown: Okay. So she booked this place. So did she know that it was aclothing optional place?
Alex: She claims that she didn’t know. Sometimes when she’s in a rush, she can just do things without…
Ayla Brown: Without fully reading the fine print.
Alex: Yeah, reading the fine print. But that’s the thing, I don’t think that’s something that was in the fine print. It seems like something in the large print.
Ayla Brown: TripAdvisor reviews or something. So she wants to go because she doesn’t want to waste the money. It’s nonrefundable. And she’s encouraging you to just say, Alex, it’s okay. It’ll be fine. We don’t need to spend all the time around the resort. We can go out and do other things. Am I correct? But you still just do not want to go.
Alex: That’s exactly right. Come on, don’t worry about it. It’s the deposit down. You know, we spent the money. Like, loosen up a little bit. We’ll just go have fun, walk around, and it’s uncomfortable. I don’t know. I don’t really know what to do because the fact that we spent the money, that it’s nonrefundable and that there will be activities outside of the house.
