Concert Crowds

The theme of country music currently is a sound that we haven’t heard in a long time. We’re seeing the genre show more of it’s traditional roots of three chords and the truth. Add in some modern flare and you’ve got some jams that are constantly stuck in my head. As we start a new year, we have new music and a LOT of new artists bringing it to us. Here are the songs, and artists, I am loving going into 2023!

  • 1. Corey Kent - Wild As Her

He competed on The Voice back in 2015 under the name Corey Kent White, but he shortened his name to Corey Kent and released his current single ‘Wild As Her.’ I love the feel of the song and can not wait to see what’s next from him.

  • 2. Megan Moroney - Tennessee Orange

It’s a pretty huge deal down in the South; the Tennessee/Alabama rivalry, one of the biggest in college sports. For the longest time, Alabama consistently defeated Tennessee’s football team. But in 2022, the tables turned and Tennessee became victorious for the first time in fifteen years. Country music newcomer Megan Moroney took this win and turned it into a country love song. ‘Tennessee Orange’ has a slow and warm feel, with hints of that traditionalism we talked about. It’s her current single – check it out!

  • 3. Bailey Zimmerman - Rock And a Hard Place

He’s undeniably one of the next big things in country music, and a HUGE tour with Morgan Wallen this summer is only going to make that sentiment more true. Win your tickets to one of three shows they’re playing at Fenway here, and check out Bailey’s current single ‘Rock And a Hard Place.’

  • 4. Old Dominion - Memory Lane

Old Dominion started off their 2023 with a brand new release. Lead singer Matt Ramsey says they wanted to take a melancholy theme and put it over a cool beat to bring back a nostalgic feel. Take a trip down ‘Memory Lane’ with Old Dominion’s new single.

  • 5. Kelsea Ballerini - If You Go Down (I'm Goin' Down Too)

I mentioned the modern-traditionalism aspect of country music at the moment, and this song is a true embodiment of that. Kelsea Ballerini says she wanted her new single ‘If You Go Down (I’m Goin’ Down Too) to have a “little bit of wit to it” and she mentioned the hit from The Chicks ‘Goodbye Earl’ as being similar.

  • 6. Chayce Beckham - 23

He won American Idol a few years back and released a duet with Lindsay Ell last year – but Chayce Beckham is starting 2023 off with a brand new single, appropriately titled ’23.’ Check it out!

  • 7. Drake Milligan - Sounds Like Something I'd Do

Looking for a upbeat country jam? Then look no further. Check out newcomer Drake Milligan and his new song ‘Sounds Like Something I’d Do,’ and then tell me you weren’t headbanging during it.

  • 8. Mitchell Tenpenny - We Got History

Mitchell Tenpenny had a huge 2022 with a solo No. 1 hit and another in the form of a collaboration with Chris Young. He released his latest album in late 2022, and you can check out his latest single from it ‘We Got History.’ I love the line “I won’t know you when you’re turning sixty-four, but nobody knew you better at twenty-five.”

  • 9. BRELAND - For What It's Worth

You may remember BRELAND from the number one he had a few years back alongside Dierks Bentley and HARDY with ‘Beers On Me.’ He’s released his new album and you have to check out his vocal power on his current single ‘For What It’s Worth.’

  • 10. Justin Moore & Priscilla Block - You, Me, and Whiskey

I’ve been calling it the collab that nobody knew we needed, but now that we got it, I’m loving it! It has great energy and really shows off the talent of two incredible artists.
