Saturday, August 13 is International Lefthanders Day. Did you know that lefties make up only 10% of the population? Also, people who are left handed score higher when it comes to creativity, imagination, daydreaming and intuition. They’re also better at rhythm and visualization. Some interesting facts about left handers: left hand stroke victims recover faster, they’re good at complex reasoning, they have a competitive edge in sports like baseball and boxing and word is, left-handed college graduates go on to become 26 percent richer than right-handed students.

There is also a website set up for “Left Handers Day.” According to www.lefthandersday.com “Welcome to the official site for the 30th annual Left Handers Day! August 13th is a chance to tell your family and friends how proud you are of being left-handed, and also raise awareness of the everyday issues that lefties face as we live in a world designed for right-handers.” You can visit that site HERE.

To celebrate International Lefthanders Day, we decided to take a look at some celebrities that we didn’t know were left handed. We bet you didn’t know either. Let’s look shall we:

  • Justin Bieber

“At 8 I started to play the guitar,” Justin said. “Basically when I started playing the guitar, I picked up a right-handed guitar. ‘Cause that was all … my mom had a right-handed guitar in the house. And picked it up and I picked it up left-handed. My mom would switch it the other way. And I would switch it right back to the other way and try to play. It was difficult because it’s backwards. My mom, I think it was for my birthday, she bought me a left-handed guitar. And so ever since I was young I learned on a left-handed guitar.”
