The Real Housewives have nothing on these queens! What happens when a notorious king’s past (and passed) wives are given the power of a microphone and a stage? Find out at the Emerson Colonial Theatre and the Broadway musical SIX. The unique telling of a king’s wives. King Henry VIII, who ruled England from 1509-1547, was more known for his wives than his politics. He cheated, left, divorced or beheaded all of his six wives. And now they are speaking out, loud and clear!
I took my friend to the show for her birthday last night and WOW! We were blown away at the talent, the concept, and the songwriting. And the fact that is was just 80 minutes with no intermission, was icing on the cake! All six women are equally gifted, and all completely different, as were Henry’s wives. It’s a history lesson revised and rocked out to an lively soundtrack. Each queen shares their story and their stuggles with the king through song. This modern retelling of 6 queens is packed with girl power, and ready for primetime. Go with your sisters, your friends, anyone you love and want to show a great time. It’s a great holiday gift idea, and a really fun thing to do during this holiday season.
“From Tudor Queens to Pop Icons, the SIX wives of Henry VIII take the microphone to remix fivehundred years of historical heartbreak into a Euphoric Celebration of 21st century girl power! This new original musical is the global sensation that everyone is losing their head over,” reads the press release from opening night of the musical, now playing in Boston.
