Today and tomorrow, Boston will host the NHL’s free Outdoor Fan Fest. Ahead of Tuesday’s NHL Winter Classic at Fenway Park, fans can celebrate at Boston’s City Hall Plaza with a slew of events.  Bost Bruins players, past and present will be there too. The 2 day celebration takes place Friday, December 30 from 2-8pm and Saturday, December 31st from 10am-6pm. There will be ice skating, food and beverages, photo opportunities with the Stanley cup and a full line-up of events .

Whether you have tickets to the Winter Classic between the Bruins and Penguins on Tuesday or not, no ticket is needed for these Fan Festival events. They are free and open to the public. So, let’s skate through some of the highlights

 

  • Location, Location, Location

    1 City Hall Square, Boston, MA 02203

    The NHL Winter Classic Plaza™ is set up at Boston’s City Hall Plaza through tomorrow night (Saturday)

  • BioStell Mini Rink

    Fans will have the chance to show off their moves #BioSteelNextGenMove Mini Rink. They can also hydrate like NHL Players with samples of the sports drink, BioSteel. Create and capture your  signature move and share on your social media. That’ll get you a chance to win BioSteel for a month for yourself and 19 of your teammates. 

  • The Bruins

    Today, Friday December 30, the Boston Bruins are inviting fans to come play some trivia, get your face painted and more. Plus, members of the Boston Pride will be available for autographs and photos throughout the day.

  • Shoot For Prizes

    Caterpillar presents shoot for prizes. Hockey fans visiting the NHL Winter Classic Plaza™ can shoot and score prizes. While you’re at it check out Cat equipment and learn about their services.  

     

  • Giant Air Hockey

    This event, presented by Discover, features a giant air hockey table (roughly 12’x24′). It allows fans to challenge their friends in a game of over-sized air hockey. The activation also include a 20′ 2023 Discover NHL Winter Classic® drop trailer that will be open to “distribute premium items and will host display cases with memorabilia that fans can explore,” according to the press release. And while you’re there, hockey fans, you will have the opportunity to pose for a photo on Discover’s ice throne to share on your social.

  • Beer

    If your 21 or older, warm up at the DraftKings Chalet and grab a beer with NHL Alumni! Open today and tomorrow.

  • Test Your Extreme Skills

    f you think you have what it takes to hit all four corner targets, come test your skills at the Accuracy Challenge presented by Extreme Networks.

  • Merch

    Fanatics will have a wide assortment of 2023 Discover NHL Winter Classic® apparel and products for your shopping needs. Merch will be available for purchase at the NHL Official Merchandise Shop – A Fanatics Experience.

  • Cornhole

    MCR Safety will be set up at the Plaza with a tent and cornhole for you to play. You could win some safety gear.

  • Show off Your Stick Skills

    Great Clips will present fans the opportunity to practice like the pros! Test your stick skills by, get this… shooting pucks into a stacked washer and dryer unit.

     

  • The Honda Puck Drop Game And Goalie Power Play

    According to NHL.com:  “Honda, the official automotive partner of the NHL in the U.S., will display vehicles at Boston City Hall for fans to check out. Fans can also visit Honda at the NHL Winter Classic Plaza™ to try their luck at the Honda Puck Drop game or show off their hockey skills with Goalie Power Play to win fun prizes.”

  • NHL Fan App

If you’re 21 or older, you can faceoff on their Bubble Hockey Games to see which Truly pack reigns supreme. Take a pic in their interactive photo booth or just take it all in…the view, that is, from their rooftop deck.  

  • Trading Cards
