Crowd at House of Blues.

The Citizens House of Blues Boston is one of the city’s best live music venues, hosting an incredible lineup of artists across all genres, including some of the hottest acts in country music! The venue is located right across from Fenway Park on Lansdowne Street, making it the perfect place for an unforgettable night out. Here’s everything you need to know before heading to your next show at the House of Blues!

  • Getting To The Venue

There are a few different ways you can get to the Citizens House of Blues.

  • 🚗 Parking Near House of Blues

Since the Citizens House of Blues is in the heart of the Fenway area, parking can be tricky, especially on Sox game days. Here are your best options:

    • Lansdowne Garage – directly next the venue, this is the most convenient option.
    • Prudential Center Garage – this is my preferred parking location. It’s a 15 minute walk but often cheaper than closer garages. (They discount rates on Sox gamedays if you show your game ticket, FYI!)
    • Street Parking – there are some metered spots available, but they fill up quickly. Be sure to check signage for restrictions, tickets there are upwards of $100 for illegal parking.
    • SpotHero & ParkWhiz – these are some good apps that you can use to book a space in advance and avoid last-minute stress of not being able to find a spot.
  • 🚆 Public Transportation to House of Blues

You can skip the hassle of parking and take the MBTA instead. The venue is easily accessible by train and bus.

    • Subway (The T) – Take the Green Line (B, C, or D) to Kenmore or Fenway. Both stations are just a short walk from the venue and Fenway Park area.
    • Commuter Rail – The Framingham/Worcester line stops at Lansdowne Station, which is just a few minutes from the venue.
    • Bus – The No. 55 and No. 8 buses have stops near the Fenway area. You should check the MBTA app for live updates.
  • 🍽️ Where to Eat Before the Concert

The Fenway Park area is packed with fantastic dining options that you should check out before a show. Here are some of the most popular options within walking distance to the House of Blues:

    • Loretta’s Last Call – a must-visit place for country music fans. They have Southern-style comfort food and some great live music.
    • Yard House – A huge beer selection and a solid menu featuring burgers, tacos, and more.
    • Cask N’ Flagon – A Fenway tradition!
  • 🎶 Concert Tips

Here are a few pointers to make sure you don’t miss a note!

    • Arrive Early – Doors usually open one hour before the show (may vary per show). General admission is standing room, so get there early for a good spot!
    • Check The Bag Policy – Small, clear bags are usually allowed, but backpacks are not.
    • Know The Age Policy – Some shows are 18+, some are 21+. Always make sure you double-check before buying your tickets.
    • Stay Hydrated – Self explanatory!
