Catch Of The Week: Prateek Poddar
Meet: Prateek Poddar
Prateek Poddar is a singer/songwriter from Boston who describes his music as “sad folk.” He has a way of blending bluesy themes and folksy instrumentation that conjure up visions of Simon and Garfunkel. Poddar’s music is steeped in real life subjects, executed with real heart. He grew up with music in the house, and started singing as young as 4 or 5 years old. By middle school, Prateek had picked up guitar. In college, inspired by Simon and Garfunkel, Ryan Adams and Jason Isbell, Prateek started writing. His debut EP, Walking In My Sleep, was released 2 years ago.
