The Farmer’s Almanac’s 2018–19 Winter Weather Forecast
So just what will winter bring? Depends on who you ask as both NOAA and Old Farmer’s Almanac are forecasting a bleak winter of warmer temperatures and less precipitation.
But the Farmer’s Almanac has a different outlook, “teeth-chattering cold ahead,” based on a “mathematical and astronomical formula” that dates back to the 1800’s.
They say this winter will be colder than average from the Continental Divide east through the Appalachians, with near-normal winter weather west of the Rockies, the mid-Atlantic States, and the Southeast.
Those in the Great Lakes, and the Midwest through New England will see colder than average temperatures combined with above average precipitation making for a very snowy winter.
An exceptionally snowy winter is also expected for those across the Pacific Northwest and the mid-Atlantic States, so who’s prediction do you follow and why?
