Kiefer Sutherland Loves His Guitar and the Boston Bruins
So many of us have grown up watching Kiefer Sutherland on the big and small screens, now the Hollywood star is getting recognition in another arena – country music. Kiefer spoke with Carolyn Kruse at Country 102.5’s Street Party 2 about what music really means to his life.
“Guitar has been my best friend, I’ve had it with me my whole life, and just finally got to a point where I had some songs that I really like, made the last two records with those songs, and have really enjoyed touring.”
Kiefer’s touring schedule is pretty busy, heading to Europe in a few weeks, then touring the States for a bit, before going back across the pond for another stint in February.
Sometimes, he isn’t sure which city he’s in, he tells Kruser, but he does love playing shows in Boston.
“I’ve always loved Boston, even growing up as a kid – I grew up in Toronto, Canada – the Boston Bruins were my favorite team. Bobby Orr was my favorite player,” Kiefer said. “This is one of our favorite stops. You’ve got great fans, people love music, they love to have a great time, and I’ve always been grateful for that.”
Kiefer says he’s also grateful for the support he’s gotten from the country music community over the past few years.
“I was just amazed how supportive the other artists are for each other, that’s not something I’ve necessarily always experienced in the film business. I was really moved by that, and the artists that we’ve encountered out on the road have been fantastic.”
