Watch Out For This Netflix Scam, Says Massachusetts Police
Police in Massachusetts are warning the public of a Netflix phishing scam that is circulating. Edgartown Police posted a screenshot of the scam on Instagram, which is signed by “The Netflix Team” and informs the victim that their Netflix account has been cancelled because their payment method failed. They’re then prompted to renew by clicking a link in the email. In the post, the Police Department states “NETFLIX subscription scam. Don’t be fooled by this phishing scam!”
Do not click on the link. Police are urging the public to refrain from opening the email and to move it into a spam folder.
