The Year’s Biggest & Brightest Supermoon is Coming This Monday
Eyes on the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s SUPERMOON!
Monday will mark the arrival of the March supermoon, which occurs when the full moon’s orbit brings it closest to Earth. There will also be supermoons in the sky in April and May but astronomers say Monday’s will be the biggest and brightest supermoon of 2020. So I guess it’ll be extra special.
At the moment, Monday’s forecast is looking pretty clear too so get your ooo’s and ahhh’s ready!
By the way, March’s full moon is known as the “Worm Moon.” Why the name? Because the ground is usually soft enough for earthworm casts (a nice word for small piles of worm excrement) to start appearing on the ground’s surface, a sure sign that Spring is on the way. Yes, the moon is named after worm poop. And now you know. Let’s be friends!
