Ben’s Bridgewater Birthday and how You can Help!
Ben’s Birthday Parade
Remember when we got that message from 11-year-old Gracie’s mom a couple weeks ago? She said that her daughter Gracie couldn’t celebrate her birthday anymore because of COVID-19 and the stay in place orders. They had to cancel her friends party, then her family party, and she was pretty upset about it because what person wouldn’t! But, Gracie loves listening to Country 102.5 so we wrote and sang her a happy birthday song! During this whole quarantine time, I would have to say that that moment really filled up my heart. Her mom showed the video of her reaction when she saw our song and I almost cried. Check out the song below.
As a community we have an opportunity to do something similar for another child. This child’s name is Ben and he turned 2 this week on April Fools Day. Ben’s dad, Kevin, contacted us on our Facebook page to ask if there was anything we could do to help make his little guys birthday party just a little brighter. His wife Megan works as a bartender at Johnny Macaroni’s in Bridgewater and like all bartenders, she’s out of a job. Kevin delivers heating oil to houses so he’s still working but they want to give their sweet, genuine, giving son the best 2nd birthday as possible. And just like dad, Ben LOVES trucks. He’s one of those kids that when he hears a truck coming he knows the sound, he gets all excited and runs to the window.
This Sunday, April 5th, the family will bring Ben outside and set him up on the back of their family’s pickup truck. Ben won’t have any idea what’s going on, until a parade of people drive by in their cars and wave and honk at the birthday boy! And this is where you come in. If you are near Bridgewater, or just want to take a ride, from 11-12 he will be outside waving back in the back of the pickup truck. At the end they even expect a member from the fire dept and police dept to drive my in a firetruck and a police cruiser.
