John Krasinski Officiates A Zoom Wedding And Brings In The Cast Of The Office!
We fell in love with John Krasinski as Jim Halper in the Office, but there’s so much more to love about the man behind the character.
John started a web series called Some Good News, early on in this pandemic. to provide an escape and some relief to all the bad news we were dealing with. He’s hosted proms, gifted nurses on the frontlines with Red Sox tickets, and done so much to provide positivity in the world, from behind his desk at home.
And now, Krasinski has become an ordained minister, in order to officiate a wedding! On Sunday’s webisode, the actor introduced us to Susan and John, a couple whose proposal was something right out of…well, tv land.
If you are a fan of the office, then you know Krasinski’s Jim Halper asked his tv girlfriend, Pam Beesly (played by Jenna Fischer) to marry him outside of a gas station convenience store. That’s exactly how Susan and John got engaged!
Without the couple knowing, John invited their parents and best friends into a group chat video meeting for an impromptu wedding! But wait, there’s more. This little virtual wedding couldn’t be complete without Pam! So Krasinski surprised them all with Jenna Fischer popping into the party, as a special guest maid of honor!
Enter: the wedding singer. Surprise! It’s Zac Brown! And Zac has even written a special song for Susan and John!
The party wasn’t close to being over, after the couple exchanged vows and their first kiss as husband and wife. Enter: the dance party! The entire cast of The Office, (taped from their homes) joined in the Zoom reception and celebrated Susan and John’s big day with them.
Steve Carell, B.J. Novak, Ed Helms, Mindy Kaling, Rainn Wilson, Kate Flannery, Angela Kinsey, Oscar Nunez, Creed Bratton, Phyllis Smith and Brian Baumgartner all joined in for a very special reunion of The Office!
Don’t expect weddings do be a regular gig for John Krasinski though. His days as a wedding officiator are likely over, as he expressed it was lilkey, “the first and only SGN wedding. Because let’s be honest, how does it get better than that? It doesn’t!”
