Kowloon To Turn Parking Lot Into a Car Hop & Show Outdoor Movies
The iconic Kowloon in Saugus has a big plan for the restaurant when restaurants begin re-opening. Kowloon still offers takeaway, curbside pickup, and delivery currently but they hope to transform their parking lot (especially the back lot) into a car hop and use the space with outdoor service, live entertainment and a giant big-screen TV with drive-in movies.
Owner Bob Wong says that he envisions servers on bicycles serving up cocktails and food while classic movies like “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” and “Grease” play on a huge screen via a projector. People could bring lawn chairs or just watch (and eat) while inside their cars.
He hopes to get this going, if approved, this summer. “Say Anything” and Saugus Wings? I’m in!
