7/11 To Start Selling Life Insurance So Customers Can Avoid Going Into An Office During Pandemic
Soon you’ll be able to get a Slurpee, one of those meat products forever-spinning on their spinny-cooker…. and a side of life insurance. That is, if you live in Japan.
7/11’s in Japan will soon start selling life insurance at their 20,000 stores there, a move to make customers feel safer so they don’t have to go into an insurance office and meet with someone face-to-face amid fears of coronavirus.
Customers will be able to register the necessary information through multi-function machines inside 7/11 stores. The application process is completed once they pay the insurance fee at the cashier. Customers will also be able to do part of the process through their smartphones or PCs.
7/11 will be the first convenience store to sell life insurance.
