Morgan Wallen Has the #1 Album in Country – And It Sets an Insane Record!
Morgan Wallen’s debut album “If I Know Me” came out in 2018. It contains 3 #1 songs but the album never went #1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart… until this week, and it sets a crazy record in doing so.
The album now has the distinction for the longest rise to the top of the chart – taking 114 weeks to get to #1! The previous record holder was Hunter Hayes, whose debut album took 89 weeks to get to the top. Congratulations on the hard-fought #1, Morgan!
As for his upcoming sophomore album, Morgan says “Honestly, if it wasn’t for all this going on, I would have already had it turned in and ready to go. We’re getting there. I still don’t have any dates … but no matter what happens with COVID, it’ll be within the next six months.”
