New England Holiday Light Display Named One of the World’s Most Spectacular
Renowned lifestyle travel magazine Conde Nast Traveler just released it’s list of the 22 most spectacular holiday light displays in the world… and one New England display made the list!
9 of the 22 locations are found in the United States but only one is located here in New England. Gardens Aglow in Boothbay, Maine is Conde Nast’s pick. The article says:
A major draw to coastal Maine, even in the winter season, is the botanical gardens. At 295 acres, they’re the largest in New England. From Thanksgiving to Christmas, the native Maine flora is strung with an awe-inspiring light display. Insider tip: The gift shop is known for its one-of-a-kind, locally made gifts and goods, including honey, soap, candles, apparel, and even a selection of the lights that set the gardens aglow.
Boothbay, ME is just about 3 hours from Boston so maybe it’s a day-trip possibility. Most years the display can be walked through, however this year due to COVID it’s strictly a drive-through experience.
