Mr. Potato Head, A “Mr.” No More
Mr. Potato Head is changing it’s name, dropping the “Mr.” and rebranding as the gender-neutral “Potato Head.”
Hasbro says Mr. Potato Head needed a fresh, modern makeover. Kimberly Boyd, Hasbro’s senior vice president of global brands says “Culture has evolved. Kids want to be able to represent their own experiences. The way the brand currently exists — with the ‘Mr.’ and ‘Mrs.’ — is limiting when it comes to both gender identity and family structure.”
Mr. Potato Head debuted 70 years ago. The newly re-vamped “Potato Head” will hit stores next year.
