Nickelodeon’s ‘Legends of the Hidden Temple’ Is Returning… and Casting Adult Contestants!
Remember Olmec? Then you must remember “Legends of the Hidden Temple” fondly on Nickelodeon. The physical competition game show aired from 1993 to 1995 and was set to be relaunched by the new short-form streaming platform Quibi… but we all know how that ended. (And in case you didn’t – Quibi died a fast death and is no more.)
With Quibi going under it seemed that “Legends of the Hidden Temple” was DOA before even seeing the light of relaunch day. ENTER the CW.
The CW has picked up the show and will be bringing it back – with ADULT contestants. So if your dream was always to be on the show as a pre-teen, the dream is still alive as a 30-something.
Some original parts of the show will remain, like the Olmec statue and challenges like “Moat Crossings” and “The Steps of Knowledge.” Team names will remain jungle-related (Blue Barracudas, Purple Parrots, Orange Iguanas, Red Jaguars, Green Monkeys and Silver Snakes) with bright colored outfits. And the final challenge will be held in Olmec’s Temple.
A premiere date and timeslot will be announced soon.
