Elle King wrote her and Miranda Lambert's number one song "Drunk (And I Don't Wanna Go Home)" over ten years ago, and she had no idea when she wrote it that it needed another female voice to make it come to life.
At last week's number one party in Nashville for the song, Elle said, "Sometimes things have a journey of their own. And I never knew that what it was waiting for was Miranda Lambert. And I'm so grateful, and I'm so honored. Thank you so much for singing on this song. It's crazy. And it's like it's a light, fun song."
She added, "But for everything that we have been through as a planet, as a galaxy in the last couple of years, what we need is a frickin anthem about not wanting to be stuck inside. And the fact that we get to be on stage and sing this song and celebrate it with everybody is a beautiful moment because we all get to be together again, and then it's so special."
