When Tim McGraw played CMA Fest over the weekend, he stopped backstage before his set and saw country icon, Randy Travis. Tim greeted Travis and then started to serenade the legend, who is a wheelchair user, and is challenged to sing. McGraw started singing Randy's big hit "On The Other Hand," and Travis started to sing along.
Randy posted a video of the moment on his TikTok. He captioned the clip, "I can't tell you how much it meant to see @Tim McGraw and Faith last night at @Country Music Association Fest! We don't get to see each other often enough — they are lights! And we loved meeting their nephew Timothy! #ontheotherhand #randytravis."

McGraw recently announced a new music, movie, and TV production company called "Down Home." Tim posted a video clip about his new company on Instagram, saying, in part, that it will help people get back to a sense of community through storytelling.
McGraw captioned the video clip, "It's been hard to keep this one a secret for so long! Storytelling has always been one of my biggest passions, and I'm ready to take that same passion and apply it to something even bigger. I can't reveal too much just yet, but I can promise you that this company is going to be something special. We're going to be shaking things up, breaking new ground, and bringing people together in a whole new way. And after years of work behind the scenes, I am beyond thrilled to officially announce the launch of Down Home, a new media production company with @skydance, @shareability, and @emco615."
He added, "Follow @downhome to be the first to hear about our upcoming TV and film projects, new content initiatives for fans, artists, and brands, and the growth of our Nashville studios. Can't wait to unravel the incredible, untold stories with such a talented team!"

Tim McGraw released a new music video last week (4/27) for his latest single, "Standing Room Only." The video takes place in a junkyard where the cars appear to come to life.
Tim told CMT of the new video, "This video brings the song to life by really giving you a visual of shedding the past and bringing light, literally, to the old junk. I love the metaphor of standing in a junkyard and watching it light up."
He added. "Then we had these sweet vignettes – of a mother and son, of a dad and daughter and others, that showed old junk items coming to life because of their memories. I thought that was a cool concept. That it's not the 'stuff' but the memories of life we hold dear."
McGraw celebrates his 56th birthday today (5/1), and one of the things he has been great at throughout his entire career is picking the right songs. CurbThis one shows McGraw’s deep emotions when he sings. In the first verse, the narrator pulled into the grocery store, and he saw a boy wrapping around the legs of his mother. She had mascara tears running down her face like an ice cream cone melting, due to the years of bad decisions. That's quite an image.

The song beautifully tells the story of two young lovers dealing with difficult scenarios at three different stages in their lives. In each situation, the man does all he can to make sure that different people "don't take the girl."

I remember interviewing Tim when this was coming out and being quite touched when he told me he couldn’t get through the song without crying when he recorded it, It took several takes to get it right. 1.”Shotgun Rider” (2014)
BMLGThis is my all-time favorite song from McGraw and I’ll share something personal about it: When my son was about eight, we found this song together and as we drove around Nashville, he was always my “Shotgun Rider.” My boy knew every word of the song and I later asked McGraw himself why I couldn’t get this out of my head and he simply said, “Connection. This song gives you connection.” It sure does.
