Boston Hotel Named The Most Instagramable Spot In Massachusetts
These days, one of the first thoughts when deciding to take a photo, is: how will it look on your Instagram account? Smartphone technology mixed with the efficiency of having an app in the palm of your hand has completely changed the photography landscape. Furthermore, filter options and the numerous effects within social platforms allow photos to pop to life and sharable within seconds. Documenting your adventures and then posting them for your crew to see is as typical attribute of modern travel.
She Buys Travel recently went through each state to name the most Instagramable spot, and in Massachusetts, a historic hotel in Boston was named. The website states that “Any place can be ‘Instagram worthy’ if you approach it from a unique angle.” Therefore, their selection in each state is not always the most obvious of choices. For example, in Massachusetts, you may think a photo along the Charles River or outside the Fenway Park along the Green Monster may be hottest spot for you to snap an exciting shot. However, for it to really stand out as being a special moment captured, sometimes not-so-common view brings out the uniqueness of each state. Finding those hidden gems within travel destinations are things people want to see.
The most Instagramable spot in Massachusetts takes you to a landmark building with a ton of history. In fact, it used to be a jail.
The Liberty Hotel
For 120 years, this Charles Street address served as a prison. This is where some of the biggest criminals in the state were locked up. They ultimately revolted, due to living conditions for inmates there were too poor. In 1990, the last inmates were moved out to a different prison in the state.
In 2007, the building re-opened as the Liberty Hotel after years of architectural collaborations. She Buys Travel calls out the “the view through this wrought iron railing,” as the spot that is the most Instagramable Massachusetts photo-op. Much of the hotel construction reflects the building’s history. In addition, on Wednesday afternoons, you can take a 30-minute hotel tour (that comes with a glass of champagne), that will surely take you through many more Liberty Hotel spots deemed Instagram-worthy.
