Finding the perfect spot for date night can often be a daunting task. One seeks a delicate blend of ambiance, cuisine, and stellar service. On our recent outing, my husband and I discovered just that at Tumi Ceviche Bar & Ristorante in Hyannis, MA. From the moment we entered, we knew we were in for an unforgettable evening.
We started our culinary journey with the lamb lollipops. Now, I've tried lamb dishes at a few restaurants over the years, but these lollipops? Simply sublime. They were tender, perfectly seasoned, and just the right amount of juicy. We were off to a great start.

The lamb was tender and juicy. But the sauce on top stole the show! This was our first appetizer at Tumi
When Ceviche Steals The Show At This Hyannis Peruvian Restaurant
But what truly stole the show was the ceviche. After reading a myriad of glowing reviews on Google and Yelp about Tumi's famed ceviche, we were naturally intrigued. "The best ceviche outside of Lima," said one Yelp reviewer. Another on Google reviews claimed, "The freshness will transport you straight to the Peruvian coasts!"
With such high praise, we ordered the "traditional ceviche." And boy, did it live up to the hype. It was a delightful mélange of fresh fish, zesty lime, and that unmistakable hint of cilantro - the best thing we've ever tried. It was so good in fact, that we asked the waiter to bring us a tuna ceviche!

Their ceviche truly lived up to the hype! Pictured here is the traditional ceviche. It was so tasty that we ordered a second tuna one!
Other Peruvian Dishes
Feeling adventurous, we ventured further into the traditional Peruvian dishes and decided on the Branzino. To say it was cooked to perfection would be an understatement. The crispy skin paired with the tender, flavorful flesh of the fish was the epitome of culinary craftsmanship. It was clear to us why Tumi holds such a revered spot in the hearts of the Hyannis dining scene.
My husband did not get a fish dish for his main course. Instead, he ordered the Fettuccine A La Huancayna, which was a delicious pasta dish. He was full and happy with the dish and said it was delicious. So good in fact, that he didn't let me take a bite!
The Intimate Atmosphere
Our evening wasn't just about the food, though. The ambiance was intimate, with a touch of excitement. The waiters were buzzing by us all night with food and drinks for their patrons. There were people of all ages and different cultures enjoying their food and drinks. But because of the exotic dishes, it definitely made for a romantic dinner spot.
Reflecting on the reviews we had read online, I was reminded of a particular comment from a Google review that resonated deeply, "Tumi is not just a restaurant, it's an experience." And indeed, it was. From the cuisine to the ambiance to the impeccable service, our date night at Tumi Ceviche Bar & Ristorante was nothing short of magical.

We went there on a date before a show at the Cape Cod Melody Tent. SO Glad that we did!
In a world of countless dining options, Tumi stands out not just as a place to eat but as a place to celebrate, connect, and create cherished memories. For anyone looking for a romantic and unforgettable date night spot in Hyannis, MA, Tumi Ceviche Bar & Ristorante is a must-visit. We loved it so much that we went back for a second night!

7 Places To Visit On Cape Cod To Feel SUPER Fancy
If you want to feel fancy on Cape Cod, here are some great places to dress up, spend a little bit more money than usual, and feel totally bougie while doing it.
Cape Cod has golden beaches and a rich maritime history. It's no surprise that this Massachusetts haven has become a sought-after vacation destination for many. But for those with a penchant for the finer things in life, Cape Cod offers some truly luxurious experiences. Whether you’re hoping to dine in opulence, sip cocktails in style, or shop in the chicest of boutiques, Cape Cod has it all!
History Of Cape Cod
From the early 20th century, Cape Cod transformed from a simple maritime and farming community to a hub for the American elite. Celebrities, politicians, and industrial magnates started flocking to its shores. Of course they began building summer cottages that would make any architectural digest cover. (Think of the Kennedy Compound!) This influx of affluence painted Cape Cod with a brush of opulence, a legacy that endures to this day.
Fast forward to the present, and Cape Cod remains a haven for those seeking a touch of extravagance. Strolling through the quaint villages, you can't help but feel the historic allure that makes it a beloved vacation spot. The region’s cobblestone streets whisper tales of old money. The pristine beaches echo with laughter from glamorous 1920s beach parties.
Why Feeling Fancy Is Fun On Cape Cod
Sometimes, it's worth loosening the purse strings a little to elevate the Cape Cod experience. Dine at an upscale restaurant where gourmet dishes are served with panoramic ocean views. Or perhaps enjoy a cocktail at an elite bar. The sheer joy of dressing up, stepping out, and feeling fancy for the evening is an experience in itself.

My husband and I love going to the Cape. Ordering oysters makes us feel fancy, but luckily there are some places on the Cape that have Happy Hour Oyster specials! (This photo was taken when I was very pregnant so I ordered oysters Rockefeller).
To vacation on Cape Cod is to be part of a tradition—a tradition of seeking the best, of appreciating beauty, and of indulging in life's finer pleasures. It's a reminder that sometimes, it's more than okay to be bougie, to celebrate life’s little luxuries, and to revel in the rich tapestry of experiences that this magnificent peninsula offers.
So, the next time you're planning a trip, remember that Cape Cod awaits, ready to wrap you in its luxurious embrace. And trust me, it's worth every penny.
