Wake Up Refreshed: Tips for Waking Up Early Without Sacrificing Sleep – From an Expert
Hello, my name is Jonathan Wier, and I am a morning show host along with Ayla Brown on Country 102.5 in Boston. People are always asking me based on my job to share some tips for waking up early. After all every morning, I wake up before the sun, and every evening, I go to sleep right after the sun goes down. I love my job, and I wouldn’t do anything else, believe me I’ve tried, but there is a toll that waking up before the sun takes on your psyche, your soul, and your uuuuuuuuuhhhh…..ability to think.
Today, I’ve decided to share my personal tips for waking up early and getting through the day as well rested as a cat on sun-drenched windowsill.
Step One: Routine!
Having an established bedtime routine every single night is one of my essential tips for waking up early. As long as you do the same thing at the same time, your body will eventually accept that it’s time to sleep. So, whether it’s taking a shower or brushing your teeth, it’s just important to stick to a routine.
Step Two: Electronics
This step is one of the hardest for me, but crucial among tips for waking up early. It’s important to avoid distractions before bedtime, especially cell phones or anything that emits light, making your body think it’s daytime.
Step Three: Temperature
Discovering the right temperature for sleep is another of my tips for waking up early. I can only sleep with the air conditioner set to 64 degrees and a foot heater on scald. Finding your ideal sleeping temperature may take some experimentation.
Step Four: Going Back to Sleep
Falling asleep isn’t the hardest part for many; it’s getting back to sleep after waking up at night. Keep an ice pack or frozen peas handy to cool down and return to sleep if you wake up.
Step Five: If All Else Fails, Get Out of Bed
If you can’t sleep, get out of bed and do something dull. It’s vital to avoid associating your bed with wakefulness, which can make falling asleep more difficult.
Implementing these tips for waking up early can make a significant difference in your daily routine.
I hope they help you as much as they’ve helped me. Sweet dreams!
