So apparently there's a tiny mouse house at the Derby Street Shops in Hingham.
Yes, you heard me correctly, a tiny MOUSE home. I was shopping at the Derby Street Shops with my husband and our 16-month-old son, Barrett. At one point when we were shopping inside of the EXPRESS store, Barrett was acting up and I need to take him outside. I rolled him out in his stroller and waited for my husband to finish up. That's when I saw a small building that was permanently built off of the outside of the brick wall that looked like it was built for mice. To my absolute surprise, it was for mice! To prove my point, right above the mouse house was a sign that read, "Mice Only. Please don't touch."

"Whiskers and Tails" was the name of the little shop and when I peeked inside I could see miniature buttons, thread, chairs and clothes. Right next to the tailor shop was "Nuix de Vie," a little mouse pie shop. Tiny little pies were inside. Raspberry, blueberry and apple.
I got on my knees and bent down to peek inside of the shops. I needed to see what it was. Was it really made for small mice? And does that mean that Hingham has a "mouse issue?"
I took to Google to find what this thing actually was and why it was there. According to the Hingham Anchor, it's a miniature art instillation completed by a world-renowned artist.
AnonyMouse is a Swedish artist that describes itself as "as loosely connected network of mice and men.” (I'm not sure what that means to be honest). But the artist does incredible work and has become famous for building mouse-themed miniatures and display them in public.
Where Can You See The Mouse-Houses In Massachusetts?
AnonyMouse has built little mouse houses all around Massachusetts at different outdoor shopping centers. You can find them at Boston Seaport, Legacy Place, MarketStreet Lynnfield, Derby Street Shops, and The Street Chestnut Hill.
Before you get scared that mice will pop out at you, don't worry, it's just art. And it's just for fun. No real mice actually live inside of them. But if they did, that would be pretty cool, wouldn't it?
15 Spectacular Sub Shops on the South Shore!
OK, the North Shore has spoken, so now it's our turn!
Here are 15 spectacular sub shops on the South Shore!
We asked and you answered. Where can we find a mouth-watering submarine sandwich, hoagie, sub, whatever you want to call it?
Whatever you call 'em, sub sandwiches are the best.
There, I said it. And before you start getting all worked up about how burgers or tacos or pizza are better, just hear me out. Sub sandwiches have a certain je ne sais quoi that no other food can match.
For starters, sub sandwiches are incredibly versatile. You can put pretty much anything you want on them, from turkey and cheese to meatballs and marinara sauce. And let's not forget about the condiments. Mustard, mayo, ketchup, hot sauce, ranch – the possibilities are endless. You can customize your sub sandwich to your heart's content, and that's a beautiful thing.
Another thing that sets sub sandwiches apart from other foods is their portability.
You can take a sub sandwich with you pretty much anywhere, whether you're going on a picnic, heading to the beach, or just need a quick lunch at work. And unlike a burger or a slice of pizza, you don't need a plate or utensils to eat a sub sandwich. Just unwrap it and dig in.
But perhaps the best thing about sub sandwiches is the way they bring people together.
Think about it: when was the last time you went to a party or gathering where there wasn't a sub sandwich platter? Sub sandwiches are the ultimate crowd-pleaser. Everyone can find something they like on a sub sandwich, and everyone can make their own sandwich exactly the way they want it. It's a win-win.
So there you have it. Sub sandwiches are the best food around, and there's really no argument to be made to the contrary. They're versatile, portable, and bring people together. Plus, they taste pretty darn good, too. So the next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, skip the burger or the pizza and go for a sub sandwich instead. Your taste buds (and your stomach) will thank you.
