The Story Behind The House
The oldest daughter of the Perron family, Andrea was only a teenager when the paranormal activity happened at the house. She has since written 3 books on the subject. “House of Darkness: House of Light,” was first published in 2011. If you were wondering if the movie is an accurate account, Andrea’s writing reveals that the movie did take some “liberties” with her family’s story. But, then again, that’s what movies do.
An example Perron sited in her books, was the basement exorcism scene. She said it didn’t happen. But a similar scenario occurred. There was a séance on the 2nd floor where Andrea Perron said she was levitated. But that’s not all. She reported being thrown into an adjoining room. (Providence Journal). Whether you believe the story or not, the movie is an adventure in frightening. Over the years, the house has become quite a tourist attraction.
