Costco’s been selling these for a while. But some guy’s video is all over Instagram after he encountered their “apocalypse dinner kits.” For $63, you get a bucket of “emergency food” with 132 servings and a 25-year shelf life. Someone joked that with inflation, they might just start buying buckets for “regular life.”
Can you blame people for wanting to prepare for the apocalypse? We have lived through a once in a hundred years pandemic, seen wars start in Europe and have been scared to go outside because of murder hornets and heatwaves that last forever.
We know that the electric grid can shut down at any moment and with that the need to survive “off the grid” doesn’t sound like the worst idea.
Back in the Cold War days of the 1950’s and 60’s Americans were worried about Atomic War with the big bad Russians and started building bomb shelters on their property to survive the holocaust of nuclear fallout. The food they had stored was nothing like what inside these apocalypse dinner kits that you can pick up at Costco.
Here’s what inside according to the Instagram influencer “Pressure Luck”
