Have We Been Shaking Our Salt And Pepper Wrong?
There’s someone on X or Twitter with the account name “Today Years Old” that posts all kinds of random things about that we should have already known about, but somehow didn’t. There’s all kinds of fun stuff they post about, but telling us that we have been shaking our salt and pepper wrong is a new one.
We are inundated with things that we had no clue about all the time. For instance I had no idea until just a few years ago that there are two slots on the ends of a box of tin foil or saran wrap that you are supposed to push in to create a sort of axle system so the roll, well rolls easier. Try it if you haven’t yet.
My co-worker was today years old when she learned that the MLB team Milwaukee Brewers were named after all the breweries that made Milwaukee famous. We are not sure what she thought they were named after.
I learned just a couple of years ago that those little Advil packets of two pills has a very specific way of opening. If you look at the upper right hand corner you will see where you are supposed to fold down the corner then simply tear it open with relative ease. That little time spent reading directions would have saved a lot of time and effort trying to either pull it open or using your teeth.
How about this one, did you know that a “butt load” is a measurement for 126 gallons of wine a cask? Or texting the words “pew pew” to another iPhone will send lasers? Speaking of casks, did you know that a “bunghole” is a hole that is bored into it and is corked. Of course we love to use these terms for so many other reasons.
