Bitty & Beaus Coffee – It Feels Good
If you’ve ever seen the movie Elf, you know that Buddy the Elf found the “world’s best cup of coffee” in New York City. But I’m here to tell you about a better cup of coffee, and how this shop is truly changing the world.
“People with disabilities are not broken.” That’s what co-founder of a really awesome coffee shop said. Her name is Amy Wright and in 2016 Amy launched a coffee shop in North Carolina called
Bitty and Beau’s Coffee
Amy and her husband Ben named the shop after their two children, Bitty and Beau. Both children have Down Syndrome.
The family launched the shop with literally ONE mission in mind. To change the way people perceive people with disabilities in the workplace. And of course, to be a place where people will all types of abilities have a place to work.
Amy is correct when she says that 80% of people with disabilities don’t have jobs. But at Bitty and Beau’s Coffee, heck ya they have jobs.
This coffee shop has created a path for these men and women to become valued, accepted and included in every community. Since 2016 they’ve opened 17 locations, and their newest will be in Nashville soon.
So how do you properly introduce the Nashville community to a brand new business? Especially a special business like this? You get country music stars to talk about it!
Lauren Alaina, Travis Denning, Dierks Bentley, Josh Turner and more all gave a shoutout to the Nashville community, telling them that they just HAD To try the world’s best cup of coffee
If you’re thinking, man….I can’t get down to Nashville to try this place out. THEY HAVE A LOCATION RIGHT HERE IN MA. In Melrose at 462 Main Street in Melrose, MA.
I went to the Melrose location yesterday to grab a smoothie and was immediately welcomed by the sweet smile of Dan. He asked what I wanted, and even though I didn’t order one, he was knowledgeable about the coffee and told me all about it. The experience was amazing, and I truly walked out of the coffee shop feeling like I was making a difference. Sometimes just buying a cup of coffee CAN make a difference in the lives of others.
