“They are both alphas,,, A collision was inevitable.” We are about finally get a better understanding of how our empire crumbled and what happened with the greatest dynasty in the history of the NFL. It’ll all be unveiled starting tomorrow (February 16). It’s here…the New England Patriots docuseries on Apple TV+.
Here comes “The Dynasty,” an new TV docuseries that’ll peel away the layers of the Patriots remarkable run from 2000-2020. As reported in Boston.com, this in-depth look into the domination of New England will show why Tom Brady really left the team. Fans never imagined what ultimately happened would be possible, but here we are.
The GOAT
The Greatest of All Time, Tom Brady and one of the NFL’s most winningest coaches, Bill Belichick seemed like a match made in football heaven. But, while great minds think alike, too many geniuses in the kitchen “spoil the broth.” Find out when to watch and how many episodes will drop, below. If you’ve always believed Tom terrific would have stayed if they offered him more money, as I did, that was purely fantasy, apparently. According to NESN, and transcribed by Chad Graff from The Athletic, Brady said, “Me and coach Belichick, we did what we loved and competed for 20 years together…But I wasn’t going to sign another contract (in New England) even if I wanted to play until (I was) 50. Based on how things had gone, I wasn’t going to sign up for more of it.” So, now we know the “love affair” between 2 of the greatest in the game had simply run it’s course. They weren’t in love anymore.
With 6 Super Bowl titles on their resumes, Belichick and Brady went their separate ways. Now, we get to watch it all unfold. And we get to hear the story told by both of the NFL greats. Plus we’ll hear from Patriots’ stars Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman, Randy Moss, Matthew Slater, Tedy Bruschi and many more.

Who did the Patriots blame for "Spygate?"

You can’t be a Pats fan and not know about the Spygate scandal. The controversy was during the 2007 season where the Patriots were found to be recording the opposing coaches’ signals during the games. It started with the Jets who were videotaped from an unauthorized location during a game. They were taping the Jets’ coaches from their own sideline during the game. Roger Goodell, the NFL Commissioner said it was a violation of league rules and after an investigation, Bill Belichick was fined the maximum of $500,000, and the Patriots were fined $250,000 and lost their original first-round selection in the 2008 NFL Draft.

By now we know that during that era the Patriots were special and running on all cylinders. But when did they actually sit back and think, “wow we really do have something special here?” Or did they?

Another big scandal involving the Patriots was Deflategate. The allegations were that Tom Brady ordered the deflation of footballs that were used when the Pas beat the Colts during the 2014 AFC Championship Game. This was in January 2015. The scandal ended up with Brady being suspended for four games. The team was fined a million dollars and forfeited two draft selections in 2016.
